Library is OPEN with revised hours

The library is now open with the following restrictions and advisements in accordance to Manitoba Public Health:

  • Individuals who travelled internationally or inter-provincially must go into mandatory self-isolation (quarantine) for 14 days from the date of arrival to Manitoba.
  • We are limited to 25% capacity
  • Physical distancing (the required 2 metres/6 feet) should be practiced with people from outside your household at all times, except for brief exchanges.
  • Patrons must wear a mask in a manner that covers their mouth, nose and chin without gapping, at all times while in the library
  • We request all patrons to use the hand sanitizer provided upon entry to the building. There are also sanitizing stations placed throughout various locations on the main floor.
  • At this time, there is a reduced borrowing limit 5 adult books (including audiobooks) and 1 movie per patron ID
  • All items are to be returned in the room across the hall from the town office for a 10 day quarantine. Please place your items in the plastic bag provided and then in the appropriate day of the week return bin.

Emerson Public Library

Welcome to Emerson Public Library

Emerson Public Library is located at 104 Church Street in the Town of Emerson Court House and Town Hall on the 1st floor.

There is a wide variety of reading materials for all ages including children's picture and easy-reading books, Junior fiction and non-fiction, and Teen fiction and non-fiction books. Adult fiction books include General, Mystery, Romance, Science and some Western fiction genres. Our non-fiction books include sections on cooking, gardening and landscaping, health, self-help, travel and history.

Patron membership is free to any resident of the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin. Non-residents can join the library for an annual membership fee of $20.00.
